HOMER, LA: Memorial services will be held for Claudine Goocher Peebles, 70, in the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Michael Brandon, officiating. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 E. 5th St, Homer on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
Mrs. Peebles was born August 1, 1944 in Summerfield to Clyde Goocher and Lucille Carter Goocher. She entered into rest on Saturday, August 23rd at Homer Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Goocher was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother and will also be missed by her favorite dog, Nellie-Ru.
Mrs. Peebles was preceded in death by her parents; also her sister, Mildred Knoll and her brother, J.C. Goocher.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Carl Peebles of Summerfield; 2 daughters, Deborah Jerry and husband David of Baton Rouge and Susan Miller of Baton Rouge; 1 son, Tommy Peebles, Jr. and wife, Joelyne of Auburn, WA; 2 sisters, Nell Cline of Tacoma, WA and Ruby Foster of Summerfield; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Jerry of Baton Rouge, Carl T. Peebles, III, A.J. Cox, Trishiana Cox, all of Auburn, WA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Scott Haynes and the staff at Claiborne Family Medical; as wells as, the nurses and staff of Homer Memorial Hospital for the friendship and care given to Mrs. Peebles over the years. The family would also like to thank Pastor Micheal Brandon and the congregation of Abundant Life Holiness Church in Bernice, LA for their fellowship and prayers for Mrs. Peebles and her family.
