Cleo Hyde Hodges Pereira, age 94, was born September 17, 1929, to Charles Francis Hyde and Alpha Currington Hyde in Rosefield, LA. She went to sit at Jesus’ feet on December 7, 2023.

She was educated in Catahoula Parish at Enterprise High School and graduated with honors from Business College in Winnfield.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Charles Leo Hyde and younger brother, Myrl Hyde; three sisters, Jemeta Edwards, Glenda Phillips, and Edna Hodges; first husband and the father of her children, Hardie Hodges, JR; and second husband Jack Steven Pereira.

She is survived by her three children, Cecelia Crump and husband David, Charles Hodges, and Tina Davis; two sisters, Chloa Smith and Cheryl McGuffee; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-children; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cleo’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Bristol Hospice, Presbyterian Village, and Dr. Samuel Abshire for the care and compassion given her during her final days.

In lieu of flowers honoring Cleo, her family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Rosefield Baptist Church in Rosefield, LA.
