Clifton Smith

Graveside services for Clifton Smith, 86, will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Brian Opbroek.

Clifton was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 17, 1938 and joined his Lord and Savior on December 9, 2024 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam shortly before the conflict. He attended Shreveport Community Church for many years. He was loved, respected and will be missed by many.

Clifton is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Dean Smith and Essie Mary Guillot; and wife, Ruth Smith (2006). Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Cheryl Macias (Robert) and Cathy Williams (Brewer); grandsons, Bailey Williams (Jessica) and Hayden Williams (Sarah); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Health Center at Live Oak where he received excellent care for over eight years.

Honoring Clifton as pallbearers will be Robert Carter, Brewer Williams, Hayden Williams, Rick Waldrip and fellow church brothers.
