Colleen was born on February 26, 1929, in Sikes, Louisiana to John and Valeria Wood and passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Shreveport.

Colleen was an Office Manager/Bookkeeper before retiring. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was happiest when enjoying family gatherings. She was a great dancer and an avid bowler, and her heart loved to travel. She traveled the world several times including Japan, Fiji, Spain and Portugal.

Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, John and Valeria Wood; sister, Frances Parker; and brothers, J.T. Wood, Lloyd Wood, Gerald Wood; and grandson, Steven Nichols. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Carolyn Nichols Bowden; sons, Harold “Nick” Nichols and wife, Patricia, and Rodney Nichols and wife, Mary; grandchildren, John Nichols, Jaimee Nichols, Michelle Nichols, Christy Boethel and husband, Carl, Tamara Nichols, Nikki Nichols and Tammy Chambers; great-grandchildren, Marissa Deering, Drew Deering, Xander DeWitt, Haleigh Nichols, Cody Nichols, Autumn Boethel, Colter Boethel, Owen Boethel, Clara Boethel; and a very dearly loved family member, Tammy Chambers, a wonderful nurse at Willis-Knighton Pierremont. She helped Colleen by providing her love, compassion and care during her illness, and helped us with guidance and empathy during our difficult time.

The family would like to express special thanks to the Garden Park  nursing staff, CNAs and everyone connected in caring for Colleen during her six year stay. We appreciate all the excellent care, love, compassion and general concern that was given to our loved one.

Honoring Colleen as pallbearers will be John Nichols, Carl Boethel, Ryan Ebarb, Ronnie Chambers, Owen Boethel, and Colter Boethel. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Steve Nichols.

The family will greatly miss Colleen, but we are comforted in knowing she is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior.
