Connie M. Holmes Bridges

STONEWALL, LA - Connie Holmes Bridges, 86, passed away on February 4, 2017. She was born on March 5, 1930 to Barney Holmes, Sr. and Jessie McGuire Holmes in Crow, Texas. A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at NWLA Veterans Cemetery at 12:00 Noon. Services will be officiated by Rev. Todd Young of Summer Grove Baptist Church. Connie was a member of S.G. B. C. and the Priscilla Sunday School Class. She was a legal secretary for several years, and then worked for M.K.T. Railroad and Cotton Belt Railroad, retiring in 1984. Connie was preceded in death by her parents and twelve brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Andy Bridges; one sister, Thelma Reynolds of Lubbock, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. or charity of your choice.
