BLANCHARD, LA -Cordelia "Dee" Hartsell Brantly, 86, passed away on July 24, 2015 from a lengthy illness. Funeral services for her will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Arlington Memorial Cemetery in Homer, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Sean Embree and Rev. Leonard Dean. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dee was born on August 8, 1928 in Atlanta, AR to Ethel Cockrell and Corbin Galen Hartsell. She was the epitome of a True Southern Lady. God and her family were the most important things in her life. She was a member of Church of Christ in Blanchard.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bryan Marvin Brantly; son, Bryan Galen Brantly; brothers, Orval, Johnny and Tony Hartsell. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Garry Marvin Brantly and wife, Paula, and Timothy Bradford Brantly and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Chad Brantly and wife, Jennifer, Brandee Brantly, Lauren DePriest and husband, Jonathan, Hunter Brantly and fiancé, Mallory Brown, Collin Brantly, Aubri Branch and husband, Bruce, Brittany Hayes and husband, Josh, Bryan Brantly and 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Honoring Dee as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chad, Jonathan, Hunter, Collin, Bruce and Bryan.
The family would like to send a sincere thanks and gratitude to all the doctors and nurses at Willis Knighton North for all the care, love, and support they gave to our mother. We would also like to thank her dear friends for all of their strength and support.
