Craig E. Whitman

Graveside services for Craig Edward Whitman age 75, will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Hurricane Cemetery in Athens, Louisiana. Officiating will be Bro. Jeff Hoffman. Craig was born August 25, 1945 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Arvis and Vera Whitman. He passed away February 9, 2021 in Homer, Louisiana. Craig worked in law enforcement for 32 years with the Bienville Parish Sheriffs Department. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved them very much. Craig had a special place in his heart for his dogs, Missy and Candy, they were his favorite sidekicks and will miss him greatly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arvis and Vera Whitman. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Whitman, son, Eddie Whitman and wife Marsha, daughter, Rene Mitchell and husband Craig, grandchildren, Seth Mitchell, Lyllian Brooks, Kristen Wall and Nick Wall, sister, Martha Whitaker and husband Ronnie. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Claiborne Memorial Hospital. Pallbearers will be Tim Duchaney, Derek Fontenot, Nick Wall, Craig Mitchell, Seth Mitchell and Jerry Bond.
