Curtis Edward Marsh
Curtis Edward Marsh, 75, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Curtis was born December 26, 1945 to James Horace and Patricia Stanford Marsh in Shreveport, Louisiana.
While growing up in a military family they travelled to many bases in the United States before finally settling in Bossier City, Louisiana where he attended school in Bossier Parish. Curtis met is lovely wife, June Green, in high school while getting off the school bus. She told him he had the prettiest blue eyes. In 1963, the two married and spent the next 58 years together. Curtis and June had three boys, Curtis Jr., Doug, and Joel. Curtis attended Oklahoma University and played football for the Sooners. He enrolled in the Shreveport Police Academy while finishing school. Curtis became an officer for the Shreveport Police Department. During his time on the police force Curtis started his own business, Marsh Landscaping Company. After his retirement from law enforcement, landscaping became his fulltime job. Curtis was an active member and elder at Airline Drive Church of Christ. In 2014, Curtis was inducted into the Bossier High School Alumni Association Sports and Spirits Hall of Fame, an accomplishment he was most proud of.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents and sons, Curtis E. Marsh Jr., and Doug Marsh. Left to cherish his memory are his wife; son, Joel Marsh and wife, Michelle; grandsons, J.D. Marsh, Dylan Marsh and Judge Marsh; granddaughters, Angel Martin, and Marissa Martin; and sister, Betty Brown and husband, Bernard.
