Some called him Curtis, some called him Tinker, and we just called him daddy. He served his community in law enforcement his entire adult life, starting in Shreveport as an auxiliary police officer. He moved his family to Mansfield where he went to work for the Mansfield Police Department, and served for many years. He then went to work for the Desoto Parish Sheriff's Department where he retired as Chief Deputy. He made many friends while serving and was well respected and liked by his colleagues as well as the public.
He owned Shaw Painting & Drywall as well as being a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. On a personal side he was the best daddy a child could ask for. He taught his children to be the best parents and adults we could be. We thank him for all the years he gave us, but his body was just too tired to fight anymore and it was time for Jesus to take him home. We know our daddy will still be watching over us from heaven until we meet again. He left a huge hole in our hearts that can never be filled again but we are glad for the opportunity to have called Curtis Shaw Jr., Our DADDY.
Honoring the life of Curtis as pallbearers will be Gary Hobbs, Billy Locke, James Nash, Robert "Robo" Davidson, Ernest Graves, Horace Womack and Ron Crager.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner Children's Hospital, 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103
