Cynthia Gale Williams

A private memorial service for Cynthia “Cindy” Gale Williams, 68, will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. A private visitation will be held prior to service. Officiating the service will be John Cook.

Cynthia was born on May 22, 1956 to Bobby Gene James and Barbara Jean Warren in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 in Mooringsport, Louisiana. She was surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her home.

Cynthia was an educator in the Caddo Parish School System for 33 years. Her long career demonstrated her life-long passion for learning and teaching others. She began her teaching career in 1978 as an HSU College Instructor in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and worked her way into special education for Caddo Parish beginning in 1985 until 1999 in various schools. She became coordinator for Blanchard Elementary School in 1999, then served as principal for Mooringsport Elementary from 2001 until 2004. Her final role as principal at North Highlands Elementary lasted from 2004 until her retirement in 2011.

Cynthia was an avid gardener and life-long member of the National Home Gardening Club. She loved to crochet and share her creations with family and friends. She was a wonderful baker with the richest chocolate cake and fluffiest chocolate chip cookies you have ever had. Most importantly, to her, she was a student of her faith. Her love of learning allowed her to cement a deep bond with the Lord throughout her life. Her pure faith leaves no doubt in her heart or ours as to what comes next.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Gene James and Barbara Jean Warren. She is survived by her loving son, Keri Kristopher Williams and wife, Hannah Williams. Her pride and joy were those who called her “Mawmaw”, her three grandchildren, Gracie Williams, Lilly Fowkes, and Ronan Williams.

The family wishes to offer our sincere thanks to the loved ones who have offered support and a lending hand during the last few months. A special thank you for the care provided by Dr. William Maranto, Mauryne Abwao and the care team from Comfort Keepers, Amedisys Hospice, Tara Cook, Tina Guess, Rita Trant, and Shawna Bradford.

The family requests memorials may be made to The Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, 2544 Linwood Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana 71103.
