Graveside services for Daisy Lee Matthews will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana with Pastor Pierre officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Daisy was born April 16, 1927 in Homer, Louisiana and entered into rest October 6, 2020 in Minden, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, George L. and Carrie Stevenson Shelton; husband, Libe A. Matthews, Sr.; sons, Libe A. Matthews, Jr. and Tommy Matthews. She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Matthews and wife Linda of Minden, Samuel Matthews of Minden, Milton Matthews of Odessa, Texas, and Dewey Matthews of Houston; daughters, Gloria M. Seamster of Minden and Doris M. Winzer and husband Henry of Terrell, Texas; sister, Emma Coleman of Minden; brother, Chester Shelton of Saginaw, Michigan; special friend, Eli Cole; numerous grandchildren, great and great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Daltalinn Carter, James Coleman, Booker T. Washington, Milton Shelton, Jr., John Shelton, Tyrone Matthews, and Mayfield Matthews.
