Dale Winn Ebarb, age 70, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on May 31, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church, 1050 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Hwy. 482, Ebarb, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Father Mark Watson.
Dale was born on July 17, 1952 at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana to parents, J.D. and Hazel Ebarb. Growing up, Dale lived in Zwolle, Louisiana, the Philippines, and Clovis New Mexico. When his family returned to the states, they took resident in Shreveport, Louisiana where he attended school and in 1970 he graduated from Woodlawn High School. A year later he was married and had his daughter Joely. A year and eight months later his son Jason was born. Dale worked for 30 years and retired from Avaya. His joy in life was his family. He always preached the importance of family and to always be there for one another, it was the “Ebarb way.” Dale was an only child but grew up in a big family full of aunts, uncles, and cousins he considered brothers and sisters. When Dale loved you, you were given a nickname. He loved to have a good time, laugh, tell jokes, loved good food, good music, and loved to cut up. Any time anyone needed anything he was just a phone call away, with wisdom and advice and love you could always count on him. When Dale was around you there was always going to be a good time. No one ever went unnoticed he would always recognize you and make you feel welcome. He enjoyed football and was a true LSU and New Orleans Saints fan. He loved to travel and go to LSU home games with family.
He loved getting together for Super Bowl parties. He also enjoyed WWE on every Monday and Friday night. Dale was a devoted Catholic. He was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and would volunteer for several church events. Dale was an amazing father and grandfather, and always did for his family. Dale was a devoted son, and he made a promise to his father that he would take care of his mother. Dale had the biggest heart. He was truly the most loving, caring, and understanding man. He touched many lives and left a lasting impression on those who knew him. Dale is survived by his mother, Hazel L. Ebarb; his daughter, Joely (Mike) Vetkoetter; son Jason Ebarb Sr. (Amy); grandchildren, Jason Jr. (Alyssa) Ebarb, Jordan (Cody) Martin, Skylar (Chris) Logan, Sarah (Thomas) Raney, Eli and Mia Ebarb; great-grandchildren, Nolan Ebarb, Tristin Martin, Addison Logan, Emeri and Avari Ebarb.
Dale is preceded in death by his father, J.D. Ebarb, and his great-granddaughter, Kassidi Jade Ebarb.
Honoring Dale as pallbearers will be, Chris Logan, Wesley Garcia, Shawn Leone, Ryan Ebarb, Adam Ebarb, Cody Brian and Mitch Vetkoetter. Serving as honorary pallbearers, Jason Ebarb Jr., Eli Ebarb, Howard Ebarb, Julius Ebarb, Cody Martin, Thomas Raney and Mike Vetkoetter.
