Dale Walter "Dick" Wade, Sr., 80, passed away on September 20, 2014. He was born in Danville, Illinois and traveled to Shreveport on a basketball scholarship from Centenary College. It was there that he met his wife of sixty years, Jane Turner Wade, and made Shreveport his home. He was a life-long contractor owning and operating several businesses including the Handyman, Dick's Home Service and Mr. Contractor. His signature crew cut, towering height and gift of conversation made him easy to remember. His love of family and friends, ability to care for others and concern for all make him hard to forget.
He is survived by his wife Jane, son Dale and wife Mary Ann Wade, daughters Camille Wade and Valerie Wade, sisters Marilyn Wynn and husband Larry, Jean Alexander and husband Ronnie, brother-in law Ernie Turner and wife Rebecca, one niece and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Olive Wade, his in-laws and second parents Ernest and Lenora Turner and brother-in-law/best buddy Tom Turner.
Dick was not fond of fanfare and will be remembered with a private family service. Memorial donations may be made to a charity that is important to you or the ARC of Caddo-Bossier, 351 Jordan Street, Shreveport, LA 71101, an organization that Dick's family helped to create.
