Dalton Pugh

HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mr. Dalton Pugh, 82, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Brian Thurman, officiating. Interment followed in Homer's Arlington Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Dalton was born July 28, 1934 in Noble, LA to Granville and Mabel Graham Pugh. He entered into rest on Sunday, December 25, 2016 in Homer, LA. Dalton was a member of the Homer Police Department for 13 years and part of the First Search and Rescue Team. He drove a school bus for Claiborne Parish schools for 43 years. Dalton was an avid swimmer and diver and loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John G. "Jack" Pugh; and a sister, Hazel Pugh. Dalton is survived by his wife of 34 years, Vickie Diane Pugh; his sons, Jody Pugh, Randy Pugh and wife Lana, Jeff Pugh and wife Cara; and daughter, Penny Wainscott and husband Jamie; stepsons, Billy and wife Lanita Banaka, Chris Banaka, and Lee and wife Carla Banaka; Mr. Pugh had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, Melanie Pugh Moss and children Brock and Maci, Lindsey Pugh Guillory and husband, Joey and child Kody, Ashley Pugh Buckner and husband, Zack and children Dylan and Ryder, Matt Barnette and wife, Melissa and children Alex and Ben, Laci Lee and husband Keith and child, Rowan, Mikky Pugh, Mindy Pugh and children Jasmin and Jasper Carpenter, Rachael Pugh and children Lawson, Micah, and Conway, Carson and Cason Heard, Owen and Andrew Wainscott; Step-grandchildren and great grand-children Lauren Ferguson and husband Dee and children Kadence and Will, Hillary Gagliano and husband Alex and children Cooper and Noah, Taylor Banaka, Sasha and Christopher Banaka, Jacob and Nick Banaka; and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Wayne Tanner, Danny Lee, Ronnie Anderson, Mark Perot, Nick Banaka and Matt Barnett. In lieu of flowers honoring Dalton, his family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or First Baptist Church Youth of Homer.
