Danita Gwynn Thrasher

Funeral services for Danita Gwynn Thrasher, 65, will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent will be held at a later time. Danita was born on January 29, 1956 in Shreveport, LA to Aubrey Thrasher of Castor, LA and Joy Dixon Thrasher of Delhi, LA. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 3, 2021 after a brave fight against breast cancer. In heaven, Danita has joined her parents and sister, Celeste Thrasher. Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Lauren Bryant (Josh Duet); son, Michael Bryant; brother, Derrell Thrasher (Lupe), along with beloved extended family. Danita loved the Lord, her family, her amazing friends, girls\' trips, her grandpups, and all sports, especially softball and bowling. She was a proud Huntington High School Raider for 25 years before retiring in 2020. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Charlie Price, Jerry Davis, Leonard Gresens, Noel Prelow, Perry Moss, and Victor Boudreau. Honorary pallbearers are her Brookwood Baptist bible study group. Lauren would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support, especially Dianne Rodgers, Kay Broussard and Kay Price. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
