Danny Milton Sexton /MSSGT US Army Retired

Danny Milton Sexton, age 83 passed away on December 30, 2023 at his residence in Vivian, LA surrounded by his loving family. Danny was born January 21, 1940 in DeRidder, LA to his parents, Ronald Baxter Sexton and Beatrice LaVerne Shirley Sexton. 

Danny proudly served our country in the United States Army and retired as Master Sergeant after 32 years of loyal service.   He attended Starting Point Ministries, was an avid fisherman and loved to play golf.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Sexton; daughters, Laura Dunham and husband, Tim and Becky Byrd and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Mari Danielle Fleming and husband, Dyllon, Carleigh Byrd and Caiden Byrd; great grandchildren, Joseph Bigham and Justin Fleming. He is also survived by his sister, Margie Knopp and husband, Dave and brother, Donald R. Sexton and wife, Geri; sisters-in-law, Pam Hughes  and husband, Dee and Elizabeth Moreau and husband, Elmer; brother-in-law, Allen Robbins and friend, Brooke and numerous nieces and nephews.  

In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 900 Pierremont Road, #300, Shreveport, LA 71106 or to The Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758516, Topeka, KA, 66675-8516.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Starting Point Ministries, 121 SW Front St, Vivian, LA  from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. An inurnment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Shongaloo, Louisiana.
