Funeral services celebrating the life of Darlene Marie Snock Kelley, 61, will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana, on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Old Sardis Cemetery, 373 Red Cut Rd, West Monroe, Louisiana at 3:00 p.m. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Justin Haigler.
Darlene Marie Snock Kelley was born on November 19, 1961, to Kenneth and Heidi Snock, in Spencer, West Virginia, and passed away peacefully at M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Darlene shared her smile with everyone she met. Her life’s work was caring for others through hospice nursing, nursing at the former Northwest Louisiana State School, and supporting students with unique needs in various roles in education at Bossier Parish School Board. She finished her twenty-year career at BPSTIL. She loved celebrations, giving gifts, and spending time with friends and family.
Darlene was preceded in death by her father; Kenneth Snock; grandmother, Gertrude Snock; grandfather, John Snock; father-in-law, Floyd Kelley; and mother-in-law, Bessie Kelley. Left to cherish her memory, are her loving husband of 40 years, Kevin Leo Kelley; her mother, Heidi Snock; her children, Christina Tootle and husband, Will, Michelle Sorrells and spouse, Jessica, Tyler Sorrells, Kimberly Wilson and husband, Gary, John Michael Kelley and wife, Cydne; grandchildren, Zachary, Caleb, Loralei, Justin, Chelsea, Eva, Macy and Bonnie; sister, Linda Pritchard and husband, Charles; beloved pets, Sonny and Pepper along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends whom she loved dearly.
Honoring Darlene as Pallbearers will be Garry Pritchard, Gavin Pritchard, Geoffrey Pritchard, Gregory Pritchard, Jeremy Dreher and Spencer Kiper. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Billy Neill and Frank Trammel.
Darlene and Kevin were blessed by the Hospitality Apartments in Houston, Texas during her treatment. The family suggests that memorials be made in memory of Darlene to the Hospitality Apartments. Every gift they receive helps them to remain open in the future and be there to offer a place of comfort for others during their time of need.
