Darrell Wayne LaCaze, 71, passed away on November 20, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Family friend and music evangelist Brother Price Harris will officiate the services. The family will receive visitors at Rose-Neath Southside, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024.
Darrell was born on August 11, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Douglas Newton LaCaze and Elva Ann (Attaway) LaCaze. He grew up and lived his entire life in Shreveport. He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School. In his working career, he worked diligently for several different companies prior to establishing his own business – LaCaze Automotive, which he operated for several years. During these years, he achieved the distinction of “Master Mechanic.” In his later years, his interest in woodwork and carpentry led him to form another business, Prestige Quality Home Repair. Darrell was always well respected for his work ethics and attention to detail.
Darrell had a keen interest in stargazing and held membership in the Astronomical Society of Shreveport-Bossier. Because of his automotive background, he enjoyed NASCAR sport. He also found enjoyment in electronics, cooking, photography, antiquities and other sporting events. He always loved learning something new.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Elva Ann LaCaze; and his wife, Sharon. He is survived by his son, Patrick Wayne LaCaze of Shreveport; brother, Ronald LaCaze and wife, Jana of Oklahoma; sister, Lisa LaCaze of Shreveport; Uncle Kirby LaCaze and wife, Miriam of Shreveport; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Price Harris Evangelistic Association, 403 E. Flournoy Lucas Rd., Apt. 306, Shreveport, Louisiana 71115.
