BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for David Gordon Ardoin, 60, will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Forest Park West Cemetery with Bro. Mike Stowell officiating. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5850 Buncombe Rd., Shreveport, LA with Bro. Jason Coftel officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.
David, a Shreveport native, was born February 13, 1957 to Gordon and Margaret Minor Ardoin and passed away from complications with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig's disease on April 9, 2017. While battling this horrific disease, he maintained a positive outlook and was an inspiration to others. His determination and perseverance was evident to all. He was fortunate to have witnessed the fulfillment of his lifelong dream with the establishment of Louisiana Power Sports. David was an enthusiast for the outdoors, enjoying time playing golf, hunting, riding his Harleys, and travel. His greatest love was his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and many friends.
David was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Ardoin; niece, Brandi Ardoin and step-brother, Mark Cordray. David leaves behind his parents, Margaret and Roy Cordray; his loving wife of 21 years, Laura Edwards Ardoin; adoring daughters, April Cox and husband, Jonathan, Nicole Freeland and husband, Kristofer; brother, Greg Ardoin and wife, Janet; brother-in-law, Michael Edwards and wife, Dani; step-brother, Todd Cordray and wife, Kelly; precious grandchildren, Cason Cox, Cade Cox, Stella Freeland, and Hadley Freeland; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Honoring David as pallbearers will be Dalton Gould, Daniel Gould, Hayden Collins, Cameron Collins, Rusty Williford, Stuart Mason, Ricky Farmer, and Scottie Davis.
