David Neal Haralson, 76, of Shreveport, Louisiana, entered into eternal rest on August 18, 2023. He was born on July 12, 1947, in Shreveport to Walter and Jeneile Haralson.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. A graveside service honoring the life of David will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Stevens Cemetery in Rodessa, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Tommy Haralson. Honoring David as pallbearers will be Brent Jackson, Chad Gordon, Aydan Jackson, Austin Rivers, Seth Farmer, and Jon Butler. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Isaiah Haralson, Sam Smith, Clayton Fletcher, and Jeffrey McNease.
David graduated from C.E. Byrd High School. He married Judy Seeger in 1969 and had three wonderful children. David served in the US Marine Corps from 1965-1972 as a Vietnam Veteran Tank Commander receiving two Purple Hearts in 1967. He retired from LSU Ochsner Police Department. David was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed his hobby as a gunsmith.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Jeneile Haralson. Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Judy Haralson; son, Michael Haralson and wife Jena; daughters, Cathy Jackson and husband Brent and Stephanie Gordon and husband Chad; brother, Reverend Tommy Haralson and wife Sandra; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Toys for Tots (US Marine Corps) at ToysforTots.org
