David Leon Hardin was born December 12, 1937, in Haynesville, Louisiana, and passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
David played football and basketball and was an avid musician. He met the love of his life, Sherry Ann Brunson Hardin, in High School. They were married for 61 years until Sherry passed away last year. He had his pilot’s license, and he and Sherry would fly all over the United States and Canada. David had a very successful career as a band director and local musician and owned William’s Music Company. He loved to hunt, fish, and golf and could charm his way out of any predicament in which he might find himself. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and dog dad who will be greatly missed.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Jewell Hardin, and his wife, Sherry Hardin. He is survived by his daughters, Jo Ann Meyer and husband, Kevin, and Amy Heflin and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Madison Meyer Manzi, Morgan Meyer, Hannah Heflin, and Jake Heflin; and his faithful dog, Sadie.
A special thank you to family and friends who were always there for him, especially after the loss of his wife - Don Sherman, Tom Taggert, Pete Reeder, Ben Ash, Clint Johnson, Jack Hardin, and Lori Johnston.
A Memorial Service to celebrate David’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 500 Common St, Shreveport, LA 71101.
