David was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on January 10, 1967. He was a graduate of Loyola College Prep and attended Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland and Centenary College where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy.
David leaves behind a legacy of photographs that will be referenced and seen for many years. After assignments for the Pentagon, U.S. Navy, and Air Force in the North Atlantic Ocean, he agreed upon a work-for-hire contract with the Associated Press, photographing national and international events. His assignments included covering the war in Northern Ireland, Hurricane Katrina, and the Gulf Oil Spill. His photographs were distributed to such publications as
Time, US. News and World Report, The Guardian, Pravda, Sports Illustrated, and different network broadcasts including Good Morning America, Fox and Friends, and the David Letterman Show.
Always an Irish Nationalist, he unwaveringly believed in and supported unification efforts for the whole of Ireland and welcomed the 1998 Good Friday Peace Agreement. David traveled back to Dublin, Ireland April 23, 2016 for the 100
th anniversary of the Easter Rising.
David is survived by his loving wife and best friend Amy, as well as her daughter and love of his life Mary Beth. He is also survived by his father Dr. Harold J. Quinn, Jr. (Robin), mother Judy Crow McColgan (Bill), brother Dr. John V. Quinn (Kristin), sister Blair Quinn Purgerson (Jim), beloved aunt, Margaret Quinn, four nieces, one nephew, and many adored cousins. David was preceded in death by grandparents David and Gretchen Crow as well as grandparents Mary Virginia Saunders and Dr. Harold J. Quinn, Sr., of Titusville, Pennsylvania, and Father inspirit MSGR Murry Clayton.
Honoring David as pallbearers will be Anthony Carmody, Thomas Carmody, Patrick Gallagher, Danny Johnston, Keith Kiper, Jim McClelland, Roy Prestwood, Chris Sumner, and John Ware.
David paddled his own canoe and always liked to say, \"I may be crazy, but at least I\'m not boring\". His foolish wit, ability to recall the most trivial of facts, his humble, self-effacing nature and giving spirit for others will be greatly missed by his friends and colleagues.
