Galveston,TX David Lee Rambin, 65, passed away April 13, 2015 in Shreveport, Louisiana, with his family at his side.
David lived in Galveston, Texas, and was the owner of David's Island Landscapes. He was born and raised in Rambin, Louisiana. He graduated from Pelican High School and Northwestern State University. In his years spent working at Odeco Oil Company, he traveled the world including Alaska, Iran, Rome, Greece and throughout Europe. He lived in many places including New York, Atlantic City, Key West and New Orleans, but he called Galveston home for the last 30 years. He loved Galveston and was heavily involved in the community including serving as Volunteer Chairman for the Emergency Department program at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, the Hospital Auxiliary Board of Directors , International Oleander Society and Chairman of East End Historic District Association House and Grounds Committee .
David is survived by his mother, Yolanda O. Rambin; brothers, sisters and their spouses; John and Martha Rambin, James and Mary Rambin, Curtis and Martha Rambin; Jodie and Don Ashworth, Yolanda Rambin, Gina and Bobby Baucum, Emily and Eric Neiser, Ana and Mike Niten, Caroline and Steve Slaton, Gail and Randy Sallis, Allison and Jeff Jackson, and a host of nieces and nephews. David also leaves behind close friends including Doug Andrus, Jeremy Collins and John Wilson. We will miss David's quick wit and humor and his wonderful storytelling which brought us so much happiness throughout the years.
He is preceded in death by his father, John K. Rambin and his brother, Paul F. Rambin.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rambin, Louisiana, at 1 p.m. on April 15, preceded by a visitation at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana, at 10 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Don Ashworth, Christopher Ashworth, John Snyder, Ryan Rambin, Clay Baucum, and Al Philips. Doug Andrus will serve as honorary pallbearers.
