Funeral services for Dawn Adele Atkins Hines, of Shreveport, Louisiana will be held Friday, June 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Arcadia, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia, Louisiana.
Dawn was born April 29, 1974, in Shreveport Louisiana to Donald and Celia Atkins and passed away May 29, 2022. She worked as an Addiction Counselor at New Day Recovery in Shreveport. She was a 2020 graduate of Louisiana Tech with a degree in Psychology Counseling and was five months away from earning her master's degree. Dawn was a truly kind, loving and compassionate person, she loved her family with all her heart. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as their 'Barbie.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Dennis and Mavis Atkins and maternal grandparents, Albert and Sarah Trevino.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Jeff Hines, Sr.; parents, Donald and Celia Atkins; children, Krisi Jowers and husband Richard, Sarah Giese and husband Jason and Cooper Atkins; stepchildren, Jeff Hines, Jr. and wife Ashley, Stacie Hines and Jamie, and Lauren Priest and husband Jacob; grandchildren, Kally Jowers, Oakleigh Temple, Triton Temple, Leighton Temple, Lynleigh Giese, Alley Hines, Brileigh Hines, Maverick Cockerham, Lakynn Roberson, Dawson Roberson, and Juliet Ann Priest; siblings, Joseph Stansell, Jr. and wife Sharon, Andrea Stansell and Donna Brister and husband Lee, as well as many other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joe Stansell, Jeff Hines, Jr., Cooper Atkins, Richard Jowers, Jason Giese and Lee Brister. Honorary pallbearer will be Howard Atkins, Jr.
