BOSSIER CITY, LA - Graveside services for A. Dean Holt, 85, will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Centuries Memorial Cemetery, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Pierce. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.
Dean was born April 13, 1929 in Bossier Parish, LA to William Sanford Holt and Millie Thorton Holt, and died November 19, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. His parents and his wife, Jennie McRight Holt precede him in death.
He is survived by his daughters; Christy Frierson and husband, John, Kim Allums and husband, Larry; sister, Ernestine Aune and husband, Ernie; grandchildren; Trenton Frierson and wife, Aimee, John Frierson, Jr., and Jenni Frierson, Jessica Lane and husband, Lance, Abby Evans and husband, Johnny, Kelsey Allums and six great grandchildren.
Dean worked as Executive Director of the Bossier City Planning Commission for 26 years. He took great pride in his involvement with the community and service for others. He had been a Shriner since 1979 and joined the Clown Unit shortly after. He was a charter member of the Sunset Lodge #438 and received his 50 year pin from the Grand Lodge in 2002. He was also an active member of Toastmasters. He joined the Bossier Lions Club in 1974 where he performed most of his community service. He was active in the Pre-School Eye Screening Program and several other activities supported by the Lions Club. He received The 25 year perfect attendance award.
