Deanne Barrett McFerren

It is with great sadness that the family of Deanne Barrett McFerren, announces her unexpected passing on June 13th, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana at the young age of 54 years. She was born in Inglewood, California on September 4th, 1965 to Bill and Peggy Barrett. Deanne, 1983 graduate of Northwood High school went on to study nursing at Northwestern State University in Shreveport. She found her most rewarding career as a mother of three in addition to working for the family business S.E.C.O-South Inc. for many years as a controller. Deanne married Christopher McFerren on March 17^th, 2000, recently celebrating 20 wonderful years together. She and Christopher created an additional family business together Bayou Country Contractors L.L.C. Deanne was a head strong, self-sufficient, business minded woman that succeeded in everything she set out to do. Following her passions in sculpting artisan handmade soaps and candles, Deanne also founded, owned, and operated Bayou Creations, putting her artistic touch on each and every product. Deanne loved the beach, music, and most of all spending time with her family. She was the most selfless wife, mother, sister, daughter and "Nonni." Deanne will be lovingly remembered by her husband Christopher McFerren and three children; Megan Lambright and husband Michael, Lyndi Meador and husband Cody, RJ Drummond and wife Brittany; by her parents Bill and Peggy Barrett and by her sister Wendy Barrett. Deanne will also be fondly remembered by her ten grandkids; Dalton, Mason, and Preslynn "Sugar" Lambright, Koy "Woogie" Stanley, Brylee, Brody and Brynn Meador, Ashton Kerr, Beckham "Pumpkin Butt" and Ainsley "Sunshine" Drummond in addition to many extended family and friends. Deanne was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; Lorna and Mortimer Kahn and her maternal grandparents; Catherine and William Thomas Brooks. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17th, 2020 in the chapel of Rose-Neath Bossier. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
