Shreveport, La - Deborah Kay Tharpe Langley, 59, became the newest voice in Heaven\'s Choir on Sunday, January 11, 2015. Services celebrating Debbye\'s life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at Baptist Tabernacle. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the church on Thursday, January 15, 2015.
Debbye was born on November 27th, 1955 to Jimmy and Edith Tharpe, of Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a lifelong resident of Shreveport. She was a member of Baptist Tabernacle where she served God faithfully, best known for her beautiful voice. Debbye was a social worker for many years at Charter Forest Hospital and a teacher in Caddo Parish and touched the lives of many.
Debbye was preceeded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Edith Tharpe.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Gregory Langley, sons, Nathan Lorick and wife, Jenna, Eric Langley and wife, Maria, daughter, Michele Dauzat and husband, Wayne, Jennifer Carey and husband, Ed, Britany Murphy and husband, Gene, and Melanie Langley, grandchildren, Riley, Emma, and Cameron Dauzat, Ethan and Pierce Carey, Kaden, Karter, Kolson, and Kenzi Lorick, and Elizabeth Murphy, Gregory and Jon David, siblings, Kathy Martin, and husband, Phil, and Sharon Stevens and husband, Al, Jim Tharpe Jr. and wife, Kim, Roger Tharpe and wife, Karen, and Brenda Scott, and husband, Paul and numerous nieces and nephews.
Debbye left a legacy of love and giving to her family and friends. Everyone she came in contact with experienced her generosity. A devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister and friend who will be deeply missed. Those who held the key to her heart simply knew her as \"Mamme".
\"In the raising of my children, I will quietly leave my mark.\"
