BOSSIER CITY, LA- Deborah Jane Coggins Stanberry was born on May 27, 1957 in the sleepy country town of Antlers, Oklahoma. She was the younger of two children born to Glen and Dora Jane Matthews Coggins. Debbie grew up in Antlers on a farm which would start her lifelong love for animals. She was an avid rodeo girl, and loved to barrel race. She and a friend came down to Shreveport, LA to Louisiana Downs one weekend to place a bet. It's there she met her husband of over 20 years Wallace Lynn Stanberry. After they married, they had one daughter, and divorced in 2000. Though they divorced, they always maintained a very close friendship, and shared many holidays together with their daughter as a family. The absolute love of Debbie's life came along in 2011 when her grandson Cohen was born. She loved him and took care of him like no other. He called her Gigi and she cherished every moment she spent with him.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Dora Coggins, In-laws Wallace and Dorothy Stanberry. Her memory lives on through her daughter Leslie Stanberry Jones, and husband Don C. Jones Jr., one grandson, Cohen Wallace Jones. Her ex-husband and friend, Lynn Stanberry, and many people she mothered along the way including Rachel Jones and her daughter, Brianna Barber. She was a shining light, tough as nails, a lover of so many. She was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. Her death on July 6, 2014 was unexpected, but her destination was already determined.
Honoring Debbie as pallbearers will be Mike Stanberry, Wallace Lynn Stanberry, Todd Stanberry, Don C. Jones, Jr., Jeremy Jones, and Mike Venegoni.
