Debra Scroggs Carmouche

Debra Scroggs Carmouche, age 59, of Marksville, entered eternal rest on August 30, 2024, in Alexandria, Louisiana. 

Debra was gifted with an artistic flair. She was always working on something crafty. She was a loving mother and friend. She never met a stranger, and she left an imprint of happiness on everyone she met. Debra always wore a smile and was a nurturing soul to all who were in need. She was a mother to many and a friend to all. Her heart was always open to anyone needing love, advice, or guidance. She will be heavily missed.

She was preceded in death by her son, Johnathan Marvin Carmouche; father, Marvin Scroggs; sister, Jamie Scroggs; paternal grandparents, Ellington “Son” and Delia Whiddon Scroggs; and maternal grandparents, Ellis and Nell Bernard. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Connie Scroggs of Hessmer; son, Keith Carmouche (Leslie) of Brouillette; daughter, Lauren Bordelon (Neal) of Brouillette; sister, Linda Gagnard (Jerry) of New Iberia; brothers: Ronnie Self (Theresa) of Ethel, and Bobby Scroggs of Marksville; 9 grandchildren: Lakyn Carmouche, Gracie Carmouche, Eean Carmouche, Cam Carmouche, Ethan-Jon Carmouche, Khoen Carmouche, Ana Bordelon, Dakota Bordelon and Autumn Bordelon; the father of her children, Johnny Carmouche as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will hold a candle light prayer service in the church hall of St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Brouillette, located at 4052 Hwy 452, Marksville Louisiana, on Friday, September 13, 2024 beginning at 3:30 p.m., followed by a procession to the church. Holy Adoration and Divine Mercy will be held at 4:00 p.m., and a Memorial Mass will start at 5:00 p.m. Visitation and Celebration of Life will begin at 6:00 p.m. and last until 8:00 p.m.
