Deb was an active member of Brookwood Baptist Church where she was blessed to be involved in Grace Respite for disabled children, working in the store with the youth on Challenge week and working on numerous other committees and programs at the church. Her extended church family at Brookwood was a blessing in Deb's life. Deb served on several mission trips to Boston and to Jerusalem. She loved spending time at the Parker's, the bowling teams, bunco games and the cookouts on the German's Farm in Mansfield. She has a special place for Brother John Harp.
Deb began her career in Oil and Gas at Brammer Engineering in 1981. She loved being a member of the Oil and Gas family in Shreveport, Louisiana. Her career gave her the opportunity to work at the VOA as a tutor, to serve as a dedicated member of the Desk and Derrick in Shreveport, Louisiana. Deb served as First VP, Second VP, and Director for the association and worked at the local, regional and national levels. Desk and Derrick allowed her to be involved in many activities such as Shoot outs, golf tournaments and the newsletter the Gusher. During her years there she made many personal relationships in Oil and Gas. Her Brammer family held a special place in her heart, especially the long term relationship she had with Pam McCalister, husband Scott and her family. Pam and Deb shared many adventures like a Dallas Cowboy game, snow skiing, river rafting and many crawfish boils. In the next few years she had some company changes which allowed her to foster new relationships and make new memories. She loved the Desk & Derrick ladies, the guys at the golf tournaments and the time she spent with the Ebarb's on their farm in Many.
Deb was Marie's friend for over thirty-five years and was Aunt Deb to Christi, Melissa , husband Josh, Colby, Brianna, Jon and Andrew. Deb welcomed each of the children into the world from the delivery room. Deb loved Jesus, Dallas Cowboys, LSU Tigers, Luke Bryan, Christian Music and the mountains. Aunt Deb would sit for hours to watch the kids play sports, whether in the sweltering sun for baseball or the freezing cold for soccer. Deb loved going on vacation and making memories.
Deb was a tried and true Cowboy fan, first as a graduate of Southwood High School and then in support of her beloved Dallas Cowboys. If she shared holidays with your family or followed you on Facebook, you knew she was your friend for life. She loved the outdoors, music, dancing, adventure and serving others. She never met a stranger, you could feel the love when she talked to you and most referred to her as Aunt Deb.
