Funeral services for Denver Leon Ebert “Papa,” 88, will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Frierson Baptist Church, 299 East St., Frierson, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery at Hwy. 175 and Farris Lane in Frierson. A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. Mel Campbell.
Papa was born on December 25, 1935, in Chopin, Louisiana to George Ebert and Eva Jowers Ebert and passed away on May 4, 2024, in Shreveport.
Papa was a resident of Frierson. He married the love of his life, Patricia, on June 6, 1958. She passed away 40 years later on April 4, 1999. He loved the Lord and never lost his faith. He enjoyed bass fishing, gardening, and ministering to anyone as he never met a stranger. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Free Masons.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Ebert and Eva Jowers Ebert; wife, Patricia Ebert; sons, D’Wayne Ebert and Danny Joe Ebert. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Glenn Ebert; grandsons, Dustin Ebert and his wife, Amber, and their daughter, and Micah Ebert; granddaughters, Erika Sampson and husband, Josh, and their three children, Jessica Thomas and husband, Brian, and their son, and Secilia Green and husband, David, and their three children, and their three grandchildren; and brothers, Roy and Raymond Ebert. Papa also had a special place in his heart for all the nieces, nephews, and fellow church members.
Honoring Papa as pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Dustin Ebert, Micah Ebert, Josh Sampson, Brian Thomas, David Green and Andy Ebert. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his brothers, Roy and Raymond Ebert.
The family would like to express special thanks to the Hospice team, the doctors and nurses, and the staff at The Oaks of Louisiana for the wonderful care and compassion given to Papa.
