Derris Lynn Wilson
Derris Lynn Wilson, 80, passed away peacefully June 5, 2015. Services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel, with Dr. Larry Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Hunter Community. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 a.m. till service time.
Derris was born March 7, 1935 in Nevada County, AR. He owned and operated Derris Barber Shop for many years. He later worked as a Lumber Yard Manager at United-Bilt Homes Inc. Lumber Yard for over 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Linda Bailey Wilson and parents Malcolm Cornelius Wilson and Willie Mode Manning Wilson.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sherri Howard, Sonja Viguerie and husband Mike; brothers, Derrell Wilson and wife Esther, Dennis Wilson and wife Connie; grandchildren, Brady Howard, Allison Viguerie, Hannah Viguerie and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Derris as pallbearers will be L.C. Blunt Jr., Dr. William D. Bailey, Tommy Bailey, Larry Blunt III, Lawrence Blunt IV, Mike Viguerie, Brady Howard, and Paul Blunt.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Sandra Bailey Blunt, sister-in-law to Derris, for her continuous care and concern by visiting, bringing lunch, and being the sister he never had. The family would also like to thank Jan and Bob, neighbors to Derris, for their constant visits and help these last three years as he coped with the loss of his wife, Linda Bailey Wilson.
