Deward D Spinks

SHREVEPORT, LA - Memorial Services for Deward Delane Spinks, 81, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Oakmont Church of God. Officiating will be Pastor Doyce Smith. Deward was born on March 31, 1935 in Jamestown, LA to Mr. Ishmael and Leviss McCain Spinks and passed away on May 13, 2016. Deward loved traveling, working on cars, and going to church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Doug Spinks and Glen Spinks. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Dell Spinks; son, Butch Spinks and Tammy Goodman; daughter, Pamela and Jerry Wood; grandchildren, Amy and Tony Dupree, Christina and Stephen Hughes, Betty and Travis Holton, Lena and Dusty Johnson, Delana Spinks and Josh Nutter, and Jeremy Wood; great-grandchildren, Damien and Haley Beaudoin, Dillion Hughes, Alexandria Hughes, Selena Nicole Beaudoin, Ecclesia Dupree, Trevor and Tanner Holton, Tori, Hannah, and Hayleigh Johnson, and Thomas Nutter; Siblings, Jenny Spinks, Donny "Elmo" Spinks, Joyce and Jerry Calhoun, Jane Dunn, Harvey "Ski" and Louise Spinks; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
