Dexter Lee Watson

Funeral services for Dexter Lee Watson, 83, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Chris Young assisted by Rev. Darrell Dean with special music by Skeeter Davis. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the funeral home. Dexter was born October 23, 1934 in Rayville, LA to Gus and Ruby Watson and passed away on January 28, 2018 in Shreveport. He worked at Lucent Technologies and Western Electric. He was a wonderful and adored husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Dexter was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Jeraldine Jones Watson; son, Jeffrey Wayne Watson and wife Mary Rose Watson; daughter, Connie Watson Eason and husband Kent William Eason; grandchildren, Laura Eason Cefalu and husband Dr. Jeremy Russell Cefalu, Zackary Dylan Watson, and Madalyn Anne Watson; great-grandchildren, Henry Russell Cefalu and Jon William Cefalu; and sister, Joyce Chick. Pallbearers will be Ken Bishop, Arthur Kline, Don Branch, Dwayne Connella, Ricky Goodman, Harvey Huffman, Allen Nettles, and Bill Matthews. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Walpool, Frank Watts, and James Thomason. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or St. Jude Children's Hospital. The family would like to give a special thanks to Christus Highland 3^rd Floor PCU for their loving care and Bossier City Police, Bossier Parish Police, and Shreveport Police Motors Divisions for their service.
