Dianne Boyt

Dianne Norwood Boyt, 59, entered Heaven's gates Friday, October 16, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dianne was born on August 6, 1956 to James Ernest Norwood and Polly Daniels Norwood. Dianne was married to Jeff Boyt for 32 years. She was a lifelong and well known resident of Mansfield. She loved to say she was a "hometown girl". For over 25 years, Dianne was the president and owner of Dianne Boyt Insurance Agency, Inc. the only locally owned and operated independent insurance agency in DeSoto Parish. She was a past president of the Mansfield Business and Civic Association. For 14 years, Dianne held the "Toys for Tots" toy drive in conjunction with the USMC Reserves ensuring that the toys stayed in DeSoto Parish. She then created and conducted the "Under the Tree" program. Dianne was a founding member of the DeSoto Jaycees serving as secretary and later as president. She was a member of the DeSoto Parish Fire Protection District #8 Civil Service Board and a member of the Professional Insurance Agents of Louisiana US Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, BBB, NFIB, The Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives, and served as a DeSoto Outreach Representative. Dianne was heavily involved with numerous civic and social organizations such as DARE, Project Celebration, Taylor House, and the VFW. She faithfully supported her son and numerous nieces and nephews in all their endeavors. She spent a majority of her time at softball and baseball fields, gyms, rodeos, and motocross tracks with a huge smile cheering on those she loved. She truly gave of herself to everyone she met. Dianne loved her family, friends, and fishing. There was no better day than one spent on the lake in her boat. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, James Ernest Norwood and Polly Daniels Norwood. She is survived by husband Jeff Boyt of Mansfield, sons Ricky Flores of Mansfield and Zac Austin of Converse, beloved dog Jake, sisters Billie Norwood Sims and husband Clyde, Peggy Norwood Boyt and husband Larry, and brother Jimmy Norwood and wife Sissy. Dianne is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who all had special relationships "Aunt DD". She lived, she loved, and she will be remembered always.
