Dolores Veronica Ruzat-Thorn

            A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Dolores Veronica Ruzat-Thorn, age 78, of Marksville, Louisiana, on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church, located at 820 Front St., in Cottonport, Louisiana.

Dolores Veronica Ruzat-Thorn entered eternal rest on July 12, 2023, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. She was born on June 26, 1945, in Delaware County, Philadelphia.

            Mrs. Dolores loved to read and write. She loved to travel; she was adventurous. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was a fighter and problem solver. She was an unforgettable soul and will be missed by many.

            Mrs. Dolores was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Peterson; sister, Susan Byrne; son-in-law, John Kelley; and Father, Paul Peterson, Sr.

            Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Alexandria Kelley of Pineville, Robin Thorn-Moss (Collin) of Marksville; Sister, Patricia DellaPolla of New Jersey; brother, Paul Peterson of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Amber Kelley (Cody) of Marksville, Annica Dupuy (Steven) of Marksville, Ashely Kelley of Marksville, Amanda and Brian Moss of Marksville; seven great grandchildren, Emma Michel, Dax and Kate Dupuy of Marksville, Blyth, Gavin and Faith Barton of Marksville, and John and Noah McDonald of Plaucheville.

            A visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 16, 2023, in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home located at 334 Acton Road in Marksville, lasting until 8:00 p.m., and will continue Monday,  July 17^th, at 8:00 a.m., lasting until 9:30 a.m.
