Don W. Martin, Sr.

Hall Summit, LA - Celebration of life and going home service for Don W. Martin, Sr., 73, was held Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Coushatta Chapel at 2:00 PM with Reverend Billy Davis officiating with Reverend James Hester assisting. Interment followed at Social Springs Cemetery in Ringgold, LA. Visitation was held from noon until service time on the same day. Don was born February 24, 1942, in Red River Parish, LA, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 8, 2015, in Shreveport, LA. Preceding him in death were wife, Nettie Henry Martin; parents, Roy V. Martin and Audie B. Fields Martin; and nephew, Ryan Watts. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Don Wayne Martin, Jr. and wife, Robin of Ringgold, LA, and Michele McCarthy and husband, Jason; brothers, Allen Martin and wife, Ann Marie of West Memphis, AR, Ed Martin and wife, Barbara of Bolton, TX; sisters, Virginia Langevin and husband, Jim of Ringgold, LA and Kathy Neely and husband, Russ of Shreveport, LA; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were Jason McCarthy, Justin McCarthy, Chad Shirley, Clayton Warren, Ed Martin, and Joe Tarver. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be donated to Social Springs Baptist Church Building Fund. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Reverend Billy Davis and Ann Cook.
