Don was born on December 29, 1955, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Don Wayne Roberson, Sr., and Nancy Shillcutt Roberson. He passed away suddenly on August 24, 2022, in Ruston, Louisiana.
Don Wayne Roberson, Jr. grew up in Benton, Louisiana. He graduated from Plain Dealing Academy in 1974. He lived for Friday night football and hunting with his dad, Don Wayne Roberson, Sr. After high school, he went into the oilfield and served 42 years with Baker Hughes before becoming a self-employed consultant. Don was a devoted member of the Simple Church and loved to serve with his beloved wife, Denise. His favorite pastime was time spent with his family every chance he could get. Anyone that knows Don knows how much of a jokester he was. He lived his life to the fullest in every moment. Don Wayne was a kind, giving, and loving soul who never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He Loved Big! He leaves that big hole in our lives. Our comfort comes in knowing he walked daily with Jesus, as he does today.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles Brandon Roberson; paternal grandparents, Claude M. Roberson and Maurine Roberson; and maternal grandmother, Joy Shillcut. He is survived by his wife, Denise Black Roberson of Benton, LA; daughter, Keagan Kelemen Sousa and husband Caio of Brazil; son, Kade Kelemen and wife Peyton of Lafayette, LA; brother, David Roberson and wife Ginger of Baton Rouge, LA; sister, Natalie Roberson Thomas and husband Bret of Benton, LA; grandchildren, Jasmin Juarez, Janice Van Cleave, Jamian Van Cleave, Isabella Sousa, and Lucca Sousa; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Lighthouse Family Retreat, 2555 Northwinds Pkwy Suite 800 Alpharetta, GA 30009.
