Donald Roy Giddens

SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services celebrating the life of Donald Roy Giddens, 76, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at NWLA Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Rev. Sammy Giddens will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 10-12:00 p.m. Donald was born July 9, 1940 in Natchitoches, LA to William Grady Giddens and Mary Jane Walker Giddens, and passed away on November 27, 2016. Donald proudly served his country in the US Army. He worked as a welding technician at Beaird Industries until his retirement in 2002. Donald was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and William Giddens, brothers, Billy Ray Giddens and W.G. Giddens, and his sister, Linda Faye Giddens Head. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Whatley Giddens; son, Donald Chris Giddens; daughter, Meda Dawn Giddens Harper and husband, Rodney; grandchildren, Hannah Marie Giddens, Lauren Nikole Giddens, Hunter Lynn Harper, Logan Chase Harper, and Colton Lane Harper; sister, Ruby Elaine Giddens Rushing and husband, Howard; brothers, Jerry Wayne Giddens and wife, Karen and Samuel Doyle Giddens and wife, Frances; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Honoring Donald as pallbearers will be grandsons Hunter Lynn Harper, and Logan Chase Harper; nephews James Giddens, Kevin Giddens, Michael Rushing, and Terry Rushing.
