Donald R. Saunders

SHREVEPORT, LA - A memorial service for Donald Ray Saunders, 63, will be 3 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Donald Tinsley. Visitation will be prior to the service Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. Donnie was born January 30, 1952 in Leesville, LA to Thomas Calvin Saunders, Jr. and Gertie Doree Raines Saunders. He died on November 24, 2015 in Shreveport. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, hunter, and jokester and loved to cook. Donnie was a carpenter by trade and took pride in everything he did. He loved to tinker. He enjoyed watching his grandson play sports and teaching him how to fish He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Olan "Buddy" Saunders. Donnie is survived by sons, Eric Saunders and Shawn Saunders; grandchildren, Collin Reese Saunders and his mother, Amanda Saunders and Brittany Nelson; brother, Lloyd Saunders and wife, Judy; sister, Sue Shelton and husband, Ronnie; nieces, Paige Shelton, Shannon Thames, Mickie Cook; nephews, Doug Saunders and Price Young and great nephews, Stran Saunders and Zach Cook.   Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Neil Kalberg, John Canatella and Johnny Canatella, Keith Foshee, Darien Vercher, Donald Tinsley, Perry Langley, Steven Beavers, Ronald Shelton, Kevin Cole, and Steve Hammontree.
