Donald Lee Scott, Jr.

Donald Lee Scott, Jr., born October 28, 1944 in Shreveport, Louisiana, has entered peacefully into his eternal rest on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the age of 80.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Sr. and Ramona Tuminello Scott; his brother, John Thomas Scott; and brother-in-law, Jerry Paylor. He is survived by his sister, Sandra Paylor and by Kathy Scott; mother of his three daughters and spouses, Paula Linacre and husband, Guy Linacre, Stacy Tuma and husband, Ray, Michele Creighbaum and husband, Scott Creighbaum.

Donnie was a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren; Tanner Linacre and Austin Linacre, Katherine Tuma Anderson and husband, Blake Anderson and great-granddaughter Evelyn Anderson; Seth Tuma, Andrew Tuma, Christopher Tuma, and Clara Tuma; Taylor Creighbaum and Alex Creighbaum.

He is also survived by his devoted companion of 29 years, Dickie Courtney.

Donnie graduated from C.E. Byrd High School and attended Louisiana Tech University until drafted into the United States Army in 1966. He was honorably discharged in 1972 and began a career in the oil and gas industry.

Donnie‘s passions extended beyond his military service and career. He loved golf, hunting and fishing, cooking and traveling on cruises.

He never met a stranger and had many lifelong friends. He was always helpful, generous and hospitable. Sunday dinners with family were a tradition where his Italian heritage was on display.

Honorary pallbearers are Tanner Linacre and Austin Linacre, Seth Tuma, Andrew Tuma, Christopher Tuma and Alex Creighbaum.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
