SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Donald Wesley Webb will be held at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Rev. Robert Moore and Rev. Dr. Rowena White will be officiating. Interment will follow at NWLA Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time.
Don was born New Year's Eve 1942 in Many, LA to Clarence and Marjorie Webb and went to be with his Savior, March 6, 2017. Don proudly served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Lexington during the Vietnam War. Not only did he serve his country but he served his community as well; he was retired from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and longtime member of the American Legion Cedar Grove-Post 6 Lodge. Don was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. He enjoyed working in his garden, spending time with his grandchildren and his family. Don was a man of faith and was a member of Mooringsport Baptist Church.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Clarence W. Webb; mother, Marjorie Winkler Webb; brother, Clarence Webb, Jr.; infant daughter, Erin Lane Webb. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Carol Stewart Webb; son, Donald Stephen Webb; daughter, Tricia Webb Grayson; grandson, Colby Webb Grayson; granddaughter, Emma Catherine Grayson; brother, Kenneth Webb; sisters, Patsy Moore, Louise Owens, Brenda Almand, and Charlotte Bickley; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Honoring Don as pallbearers will be Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Deputies.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Cedar Grove Post-6, 11542 Norris Ferry Rd., Shreveport, LA 71148.
