BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for Donnie Ray Benefield, 67, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Interment will be 4 p.m. at Whitehall Cemetery, Haynesville, LA. Visitation with the family will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA.   Donnie was born February 1, 1947 in Cotton Valley, LA to H.C. and Bobbye Payne Benefield and passed away June 18, 2014 in Bossier City, LA. He was a member of the Church of Christ. A retired officer with the Bossier City Police Department, he was a member of both the National and Bossier City Fraternal Order of Police #39.   His parents and son, Karl Wayne Burniston precede him in death   He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Celia "Ann" Benefield of Bossier City, LA; sons, John Burniston and wife, Karen of Katy, TX, Denny Burniston and wife Cherie of Bossier City, LA; daughter, Deanne Rachelle Roberts and husband Jason of Bossier City, LA; sister, Debbie Huckaby and husband, Ronnie of Jonesboro, LA; grandchildren, Justin, Jonah, Emma, Karl A., Alina and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.   The family would like to thank the friends and the members of BCPD who have helped us through our time of sorrow.
