Dora Dean Fleming Edwards

Funeral services celebrating the life of Dora Dean Fleming Edwards will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Brushwood Methodist Church in Dubberly, Louisiana with Bro. Kevin Kellow officiating. Interment will follow at Brushwood Cemetery under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the church prior to the time of service.

Dora was born February 22, 1928, in Crandall, Mississippi and left this earthly life August 4, 2024, in Dubberly, Louisiana. Dora was an active member of Brushwood Methodist Church for 60 years. She worked at A&P, Minden Hospital and Minden Bank & Trust. Dora traveled after her retirement and her hobbies were crocheting, sewing, quilting and reading. Her greatest pleasure was enjoying family gatherings with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Almon Jackson Edwards, Janice Gail Garrett (Richard Bo Garrett), Donna Rae Thurman, and Ryan Edwards; grandchildren, Lindsey Todd Garrett, Jennifer Renee Wall, Robin Shane Brown, and Phillip Ryan Edwards; seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chief Warrant Officer, Almon Joshua Edwards, Jr., sons, Robin Edwards, and Lindsey Carlton, and granddaughter, Neco Shae Edwards.

Pallbearers will be Lindsey, Phillip, Robin, Ryan, Matt, and Cameron.

Honorary pallbearers will be Justin, Evan, Kaden, and Rylan.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Brushwood Methodist Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
