Dora Lee Peacock

Theodora Lee “Dora Lee” Hansen Peacock was born in Galveston, TX December 20, 1929 to Theodore Fredrick and Marian Josephine Hansen and passed away on September 7, 2024 at Garden Park Nursing Home in Shreveport, LA.

Dora Lee was born legally deaf and overcame many difficulties in life. Being raised an only child, she knew she wanted a big family. She was married 45 years to Bill Peacock and raised nine children. Dora Lee knew the importance of attending church and raising her children in the church.

Bill and Dora Lee shared many adventures together; trail riding, family cookouts, sitting by the bonfire, and even riding their wagon and mules in parades. Dora Lee loved Jesus and loved to pray. Her faith got her through all journeys of life. She passed this legacy onto her children. Dora Lee loved visiting family, shopping, drinking her coffee, and especially cooking. She’s known for her turkey and dressing and lamb cake.

Dora Lee loved the piano and had her own version of Silent Night. Known for her kindness, Dora Lee was compassionate and the sweetest person anyone has ever met. Her genuine smile brought joy to those who had the privilege of knowing her. Dora Lee loved to serve the Lord and her family. She was a member at Wallace Baptist Church.

Preceding Dora Lee in death were her parents Theodore Fredrick and Marian Josephine Hansen; her husband of 45 years Bill Peacock; two daughters Debbie Romero and Carolyn Graves; son-in-law Ray Parker; three grandsons Eric Parker, Alex Choate, and Johnny Berry.

Left to cherish her memory is her children John and wife Mary Jean Berry, Theodora and husband James Parker, Marian and husband Benny Bell, Barbara Jean Parker, Brenda Gale and husband Glenn Arnold, Billy Wayne and wife Gwen Peacock, and Shaun and wife Ashley Peacock; 24 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren.
