Funeral services celebrating the life of Doris Cordova 76, will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Logansport, LA. Brother Mike McConnaughey will officiate. Interment will follow in Chreene Cemetery.
She was born in Stanley, Louisiana on October 2, 1938. Doris died March 15, 2015 after a lengthy illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Desoto Parish. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Mansfield. She loved going to church, visiting with family and friends, and watching the Hallmark channel. She had no children but she always had her cats and they were like her children. One of the things that she could really do well was remember people's birthdays. We always called her when we needed to know one of the family's birthdate. The bible was her book of choice. She read it every day. She also liked to call family and friends on the phone. (sometimes a little too early)
She was preceded in death by her parents Alton and Nellie Mae Cordova; and brother Buddy Cordova.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers Jimmy Cordova and wife Wanda, Bobby Cordova and wife Linda, Raybon Cordova; sister in law Alice Cordova all of Stanley, LA; nieces and nephews Chase Cordova, Lacey Cordova, Libbey Raybon and husband Eli, Joe Cordova and wife Fiona, Ricky Cordova and wife Lori, Jason Cordova, Shane Cordova, Mickey Cordova and wife Lisa, Johnathan Cordova and wife Brandi; 12 great nieces and nephews, and 5 great-great nephews.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be Chase Cordova, Johnathan Cordova, Donald Joe Whitten, Colt Whitten, Tommy Ebey, Louis Chreene, Eli Raybon.
