Doris Dean Rebouche, 93, of Bossier City, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on June 5, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on April 22, 1930 in Marksville, Louisiana to Fredrick Leon Couvillion and Lottie Gertrude Dowty Couvillion.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023 located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home-2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana 71118. Funeral services honoring the life of Doris will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery-8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, LA 71108.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Lottie Couvillion; stepfather, Dewey Woods; husband, Joseph Rebouche; daughter, Lottie Wheeler; grandson, Danny Lewis Ayon; sisters, Gloria Wilett, Velma Decort, and Louise Gonzalez; and brother, Fredrick L. Couvillion, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, William (Rodney) Hamous, Johnny Wheeler, and Thomas Ramsey, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
With minimal education, Doris still accomplished opening her own restaurant on Barksdale in Bossier. She also worked 30+ years in the service industry serving tables at Kelly’s truck stop. In her spare time, she loved fishing and working in her yard gardening. When she wasn’t working, rather in the yard or at work, she enjoyed watching Golden Girls, soap operas, and the Grand Ole Opry. She loved her some good ole country music! Doris was a great-great grandmother, so she had an abundance of family she loved spending time with. Out of all her years, there was one thing that never altered, and that was her love for the Lord. Above all we give thanks for the life of a woman we got to call our grandmother. The unique, the complex, the extraordinary, and irreplaceable Doris Dean Rebouche, whose beauty, both internal and definitely external, will never be extinguished from our minds or hearts.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Joseph’s Carpenter House for taking such phenomenal care of her.
