Doris Eleanor Sayers

HOMER, LA: Graveside services were held for Miss Doris "Totsie" Sayers, 86, at Summerfield Cemetery in Summerfield, LA on Thursday, February 4, 2016 with Rev. Andrew Abshire officiating. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Thursday from 12:00- 1:00 p.m. Miss. Sayers was born December 24, 1929 in Summerfield, LA to John F. and Lillie Dees Sayers. She entered into rest on Monday, February 1, 2016 in Homer, LA. Miss Sayers worked at Bossier General and later Shumpert as a nurse anesthetist for close to forty years. She loved shopping and traveling to exotic places such as the Caribbean and Hawaii. Miss Sayers was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Era Givens. She is survived by a sister, Jeannie Gilbert and husband Jack of Houston, TX; a nephew, Mark Branch and wife, Carlene; a grandniece, Sharon Dragland and husband, Johnny; and a grandnephew, Jason Branch and wife, Stephanie all of Haynesville, along with numerous friends. Special thanks to Dr. Scott Haynes, the nurses and staff at Claiborne Manor and Regional Hospice. In lieu of flowers honoring Miss Sayers, her family suggests memorials be to St Jude Children's Hospital or American Cancer Association.
