Dorotha Layton

A Celebration of Life Service for Dorotha Parker Layton, 90, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Trinity Heights Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Nick Roark of Franconia Baptist Church, Springfield, VA, and Pastor Collin Wimberly of Trinity Heights Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery, Simms, TX. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Dorotha was born September 20, 1927, in New Boston, TX to Ola Howell Parker and Looney Thompson Parker and passed away February 17, 2018, in Shreveport, LA. She was a member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church. Dorotha loved Christ and her family. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 70 years Dr. Powell Layton; daughter, Kathy Wilson and husband Jim; son, Chip Layton and wife Tracy; grandchildren, Allison Roark and husband Nick, Leighton Wilson and wife Emily, Madison Layton, Molly Layton and Tess Layton; great-grandchildren, Elijah Roark, Hudson Roark, Emmaline Roark and Polly Wilson. The family suggests memorials may be made to Trinity Heights Baptist Church, 3820 Old Mooringsport Rd., Shreveport, LA 71107.
