Dorothy Breedlove

Hall Summit, LA - Dorothy Breedlove passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the age of 92, after two long illnesses. Preceded in death by her husband, John A. Breedlove; parents, John and Maude Jackson; six sisters, Ollie, Stella, Ruthie, Goldie, Ruby, and Ella Nora; one brother, John Thomas; one grandson, Roy Don Barnard; and one great-grandson, Clay Barnard. Mrs. Breedlove is survived by three children, Denny Ray Breedlove of Wilson, NC, Dianne Jackson and husband, Bill of Center Point, AL, Jeannie Thomas and husband, Tommy of Minden, LA, and step-daughter, Beverly Carter of Coushatta, LA; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Breedlove was also the start of five generations of girls in her family. She resided in Hall Summit for 56 years and was a florist in Coushatta, LA. Viewing will be at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the chapel. Burial will follow at Centuries Cemetery, in Shreveport LA, at 2:00 PM. Honoring her as pallbearers are Roy Barnard, Jessie Davis, Justin Barnard, Tommy Thomas, Tray Thrasher, and A. G. Barnard.
